Feeding your cat

Cat's diet should be tailored to the age and physical condition (castration, sterilisation, pregnancy, lactation).Since cats are carnivores,in their diet the meat should prevail. It is best to buy ready-made food from reputable companies, do not buy these cheap from supermarkets. Cat should have permanent access to the bowl of fresh drinking water.

The diet should not only provide calories, but also act as a preventative. When choosing the components, be sure to include carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and of course water.

You can try to prepare the food by yourself, but it would be very time-consuming and difficult to provide all the necessary ingredients. It makes sense to choose to food available on the market, of course those from reputable companies. In any case, you should not buy the cheapest food in of supermarkets, which have rather little to do with a well- composed diet. When you make the choice you have to remember that cats are carnivores, so meat content should be high. Most cats derive energy from fats, proteins and carbohydrates. They definitely should not be fed with vegetable food.

Stomach of a cat in principle does not rest and eats about 15-20 times a day. Cat does not have the digestive enzymes in the saliva, the teeth are sharp and suitable for the initial food fragmentation. Ideally, if a bowl of dry food will be available at all times for the cat, and next to it is mandatory second bowl of water. Diet can be varied with boiled chicken, egg yolk (but not more often than once a week), boiled fish (and not too often). Of course, do not add any spices. It is also good to have a special grass for cats, which cat can eat and nibble. It will provide fibres facilitating the removal of the hairballs from gastrointestinal tract, and to protect our house plants.

Of course it is mandatory to systematically wash and clean all the bowls used by cats.
